Hands-on art activities, self-guided tours of Polasek’s Historic Home, 1885 Capen House, and Sculpture Gardens will be available throughout the day. Download your free ticket at smithsonianmag.com/museumday or register at entrance for free admission. $5 onsite parking.

Heritage Day

Join the Polasek Museum for its long-running annual festival highlighting Albin Polasek’s Czech heritage while celebrating the immigrant stories of all diverse Americans.

Free admission to the museum and gardens includes hands-on art activities for kids and self-guided tours of the Polasek home and gardens.

The event also features an appraisal fair where attendees can bring family heirlooms for an informal assessment by a professional from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Heritage Day concludes at 3:30 p.m. with a free “Antiques Roadshow”-style presentation with local appraisers.

Heritage Day is FREE, but the cost to participate in the informal appraisal fair is $15.
