The Polasek is a livÂing museum, with outÂdoor garÂdens datÂing to 1949. The three-acre garÂden is a pasÂtoral oasis within the city of WinÂter Park. It is also a hisÂtoric landÂscape on Lake
OsceÂola with many of the plantÂiÂngs origÂiÂnally placed by Mr. Polasek and his family.Â
The museum’s garÂdens are a delightÂful retreat any time of the year with their labeled trees and shrubs, beauÂtiÂful flowÂers and sweepÂing lawns. DurÂing the spring the garÂden feaÂtures camelias, begoÂnias and ginÂgers, while sumÂmer boasts bouganvilla and hibisÂcus. Autumn highÂlights angel’s trumÂpet and canÂnas. WinÂter showÂcases beauÂtiÂful poinÂsetÂtias, snap dragÂons and orchids.Â
SpeÂcial areas to explore include the butÂterÂfly garÂden, our two water garÂdens, the cycad colÂlecÂtion along the museum’s front drive and the many indiÂvidÂual conÂtainer garÂdens found throughÂout the property.Â
