Winter Park Paint Out Emerging Artist Program

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens is pleased to announce its Emerging Artist Program, as part of the 10th Annual Winter Park Paint Out.  This initiative is designed to assist emerging visual artists and students in Central Florida and to bring the genre of plein air painting to a young and diverse audience.

Joan Sanchez – Emerging Artist for 2018

Joan Emanuelli Sanchez is a Contemporary Realism Artist from San Juan, Puerto Rico, who now resides in Orlando, Florida. His distinctive personal style emanates from passion and emotion which portrays numerous perspectives in a variety of subjects in acrylics and oils. He enrolled as a student at Crealde School of Art, Winter Park, Florida, where he later was granted a Fellowship in the Painting and Drawing Department (P&D). He brings to life, scenic landscapes, water reflections, portraits, still life and everyday people, along with architectural perspectives. Much of his subject matter reveals a deep contrasting of harmonious colors and bold compositions. With the artists’ interpretation, he welcomes the viewers into his personal visual journey. In 2016, Joan was awarded 1st place in the 35th Juried Student Exhibition at Crealde School of Art in the Painting & Drawing category. In 2017, he participated in various exhibitions such as “Tapestry – Americas United” at Banco de Brasil, “Emerge” at the Showalter Hughes Community Gallery and “Policronistas” a collective art show of Puerto Rican Artists.
