2018 Quick Draw

Sunday, April 15, 2018

For the third year in a row, the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens will sponsor a Quick Draw Competition at the City of Winter Park’s Earth Day in the Park on Sunday, April 15, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The plein air, or outdoor, painting competition is open to both amateurs and professionals age 16 and up.

Artists in the competition have only two hours to complete their work. During this time, all registered participants will set up their supplies and paint or draw in downtown Winter Park. Blank canvases will be stamped the morning of the event to ensure that all paintings are created during the limited time frame. Each participant will have two hours to create a unique work of art based on the beautiful surroundings of Park Ave.

After the paintings are completed, they will be displayed on the artists’ easels in Central Park for an Art Stroll from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The public will vote for their favorite piece to win the People’s Choice Award. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: First Prize – $250; Second Prize – $150; Third Prize – $75; People’s Choice – $100, sponsored by the City of Winter Park.
